Hospital MIMMS (HMIMMS) is the leading course for hospital staff responsible for planning, training and managing aspects of a major incident from a hospital perspective, with course objectives including:

The type and incidence of major incidents and therefore the need for proper response and management planning.

Understand and be able to implement and follow the seven principles encapsulated in the CSCATTT approach to successfully managing a major incident.

Understand the need for major incident training—focusing on those aspects of the plan which do not occur in day-to-day practice, i.e., command, control, communication and triage.

Able to deliver the medical support needed for major incidents in the hospital setting using the concept of collapsible hierarchies’.

Pre-course learning

We’ll send you the course manual and access to the pre-course online learning modules.

Course certificate

You will receive your course certificate directly from the governing body – ALSG.

Recertification

We will let you know in good time before you need to re-certify – every four years.

Bespoke dates

Find four other colleagues and we’ll run a course at a time of your choosing.

 Am I eligible for this course?

ALSG have designed this course for healthcare professionals and recently broadened it to include those with enhanced basic/first aid skills such as D13 Police Officers, Mountain Rescue casualty carers, and Fire & Rescue Service firefighters.

Even after 4 years since my last course?

Yes, you are still eligible.
Many roles require it. It is also high-quality CPD and can support revalidation/re-registration etc.

How much work is the pre-course learning?

The pre-course learning is anything from an hour or two to a day depending on your starting point.
