Sarah Rutlidge

Managing Director

Sarah is a HCPC registered Paramedic with over 20 yrs experience both in the NHS and Healthcare service.  She has worked in diverse settings both in management settings and frontline.  She is Urban Search and Rescue trained and is an active member of RE:ACT disaster response.

Sarah has a passion for education and the development of people at all grades.  As MD for Aeron, she has the privilege of supporting a dedicated team, to deliver high class education to all.

Johan du Plessis

Medical Director

Johan has over 28 yrs experience in emergency medicine, serving as a clinical lead in a number of settings. He has a passion for supporting and developing education through out the healthcare setting.  He is experienced in clinical governance, and has been responsible for developing highly skilled clinicians both in the NHS and private sector.

He started his medical career in South Africa and is a member of the GMC and Associate Fellow of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine.

Tara Bennett

Office manager and Course Co-Cordinator

Hello, Im Tara, Aeron’s training coordinator and office manager with 16 years’ experience.

Throughout my career, I have passionately dedicated myself to guiding and supporting students through their learning journeys, enabling them to achieve their full potential.

For over a decade and a half, I have been actively engaged in the education and training industry, making a significant impact in both coordinating training programs and managing office operations. My expertise lies in creating an efficient conductive learning environment, where students can thrive and develop their skills.

Having immersed myself in the private ambulance sector, I possess a comprehensive understanding of the unique challenges and demands of this critical field. My unwavering commitment to excellence has allowed me to make a positive impact on the training of emergency medical personal , as well as the smooth functioning of office operations.

In this fast paced and ever-evolving medical field, adhering to certifications and compliance standards is of paramount importance. I take pride in ensuring that all personnel are up to date with their certifications, licences and training requirements.

My attention to detail and meticulous approach to help maintain the organisations credibility and commitment to providing high quality training resulting in high quality patient care.

Collaboration and effective communication are at the heart of my work philosophy. I am skilled at fostering teamwork, both within the training team and across different departments, to ensure a cohesive and cooperative environment. Together, we can create an atmosphere where everyone’s contributions are valued, leading to a unified effort in supporting students learning journeys.

As a Training coordinator and office manager with a genuine passion for empowering students, I am eager to continue making a positive impact on their educational pursuits through my dedication, experience, and student-focused approach. I strive to create a learning environment that encourages growth, knowledge, and success.

Simon Cann

Technical Lead

I started in the healthcare in 1992 as a Auxiliary nurse and then completing 18 months of a three year Project 2000 nursing course. In both roles I worked in all aspects of NHS and Private sector care. In April 2001 I joined the ambulance service as an IHCD Technician and retired in July 2022.

I got married in 1997 and have two daughters.

Michael Malpas

Clinical Lead for FREC and Professional Development

Michael started as an Ambulance Care Assistant with Dorset Ambulance NHS Trust in 1999, before becoming an Institute of Health and Care Development (IHCD) Technician in 2001 and then IHCD Paramedic in 2005.

Since then, he has completed the BSc (Hons) in Emergency and Urgent Care Practice for the Emergency Care Practitioner role, then moved to West Midlands Ambulance Service Hazardous Area Response Team and completed the Postgraduate certificate in Health Incident command. This led him to the Private Ambulance sector where he achieved status as a Chartered Management Institute Chartered Clinical Operations Manager and trainer in a CQC registered outstanding organisation.

 He now enjoys the role as Clinical Lead for FREC and Professional Development for Areon Training and Healthcare Education.

Alex Gaspar

Clinical Lead in Critical Care

Alex is an experienced paramedic and instructor; combining clinical, human factors and education strengths. He has developed his strengths through clinical, management and military leadership roles, as a paramedic and training officer. Having worked in a range of environments he is now working on an MSc in Critical Care alongside his role at AERON and frontline work.
